Living Photography with Santa

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

The holiday season is a great time for photographers to team up with a Santa and make a child (and their parents) smile. I have had the great pleasure and opportunity to do just that with a local, certified real-beard Santa to co-op our talents for not only our clients, but for each other. We have collaborated on a local town holiday festival, a corporate event, and the most fulfilling of all, a homeless shelter. Each event presented different opportunities and enjoyment for us both.

Collaboration is always a great idea for a photographer. I do this as much as possible to not only promote my own business, but that of my partner’s. Good examples can be establishments such as pumpkin farms, Christmas tree farms, farmers markets, cider mills… the list is only limited to a photographers local opportunities and their imagination.

With the Santa events, the living photography aspect was organic. Santa did all the work while I had the pleasure of curating the wonderful moments of joy, surprise, enthusiasm, and wishfulness that the season brings. For me, promoting my photography business was far secondary to adding to the joy and happiness of each child, and their parents. More so with donating my services at the homeless shelter. Here is where I witnessed the true meaning of Christmas, not only in each child’s face, but in my own heart.

Until the next session, may you all have a happy and healthy new year,

Steve
